The British Embassy team were in Laung Prabang visiting the expatriates who live here.
They are supportive of our work at LFHC, last year they visited the building site and this year they were very happy to see a busy teaching hospital with heaps of patients, staff and students.

the luang prabang half marathon 14.10.15
The Luang Pranang half marathon is a fantastic event, I loved it last year so was really excited in the lead up as it's a busy weekend of socialising and fun.
Lao Friends Hopsital for Children was one of three local charities benefiting from this year's marathon so all of the team at the hospital took part either running, volunteering in the first aid tent or were working.
The run started at 6 a.m. so I woke early and bounced to the start for 5.30. There was so much excitement at the start line with so many friends, photos, hugs and shrieking that I was exhausted before we started. I muscled my way to the front for the start and was rapidly overtaken, haha. It's was gorgeous running in harmony with early morning Luang Prabang; the monks were collecting Alms, market stores being set up, fishermen on the Nam Kham and Meeking. And it was all finished by 9 am so then a whole day of merriment, yippeee.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, I raised over £1,000, the children of Laos really deserve the best healthcare we can offer, so thank you. The crowd rise page raised $30,000 which can be spent on more equipment. I think I might organise some fund raising when I return home next summer, watch out!
