It all started with a silly conversation in the pharmacy with Shayna which took momentum and the next thing we were organising the LFHC talent show!
I partnered with the lovely Ashely, we switched the words of Taylor Swift's Trouble to medical lyrics with verses; I knew you were pneumonia when you walked in, I knew you were beriberi, I knew you were gastroenteritis and I knew you were LFHC. We thought we had a genius name, Swift Exit, self-deprecating and modest.
We learned out lines but it was obvious everyone was taking things very seriously, I loved overhearing other groups rehearsals after work each night so Ashley and I decided a backing track and a dance routine were essential, all too confusing for me, I couldn't coordinate all 3 at once!
People were commenting on my lack of vocal ability! ah well, I chose to ignore these jealous jibes!!
On the night I was excited and a tad anxious, there was a fantastic atmosphere on the roof of the visitor centre, big smiles and wow, we have so much talent and had heaps of fun.
Mmm, the Swift Exit performance, well we had a technical hitch and our backing track went haywire so we had to sing without music, there was a mixed response from the judges, an 8, a 9 and an outrageous 1, I think we were at the bottom of the score board but we won the 'Most Original Act' Award, what are they telling us?!
Back at work on Monday my boss asked if she could have the words to our 'rap', now I think I'm a rap artist! I've made it !!!!!
