mud houses

houses are built by pounding mud into a wall mould .....
the ground floor houses the family's animals
the first floor is where the family live and have their Buddhist alter
and the third floor is open and for storage, mostly of the harvested rice.
houses are decorated with religious symbols and deities,
the phallus decorated with ribbins is popular, it brings protection from baddies, is good for fertility and honours a devine mad monk who lived in the 17th century, he fended off demons with his mighty member and had numerous women and children and preached to his congregation that this was not the way to be a good Buddhist ! leading by terrible example, all a bit screw-whiff ! he was and still is worshiped !!
